    • Export Coding hours and Code Tree

I use the data from codealike to show my programmers how effective they are.

Every month I have to log into each of their code trees to show them the top projects they worked on and their total coding hours. This takes a lot of time.

I signed up as a premium user to get some exporting features but I still need to log into each person and export the file manually.

Looking for solutions to be able to export this data for everyone at once or the ability to pull this data via API so I can get to…

      • Prevent random Visual Studio crashes for TimeTrackerService

My Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 often crashes because of exceptions in TimeTrackingService

        Codealike.Client.Factories.Metrics.TimeTrackerService+<>c__DisplayClass9.<OnTextBufferModified>b__7(System.Object, System.EventArgs)

Sometime only once a day but today it crashed al least 5 times.

You should add exception handling, log the exception to the eventlog and add an info to the visual studio status bar. This is way better than letting visual studion just crash.

          • Please allow the attachment and document to a project (like a spec) and then a Windows app/service/Office addin

Please allow the attachment of a document to a project (like a spec) and then a Windows app/service/Office addin to monitor time spent in the document (actively hopefully but unless this is an add-in, this is tough but can be done through native code.

This would enable users to include all of their work to the project that is non-coding.

            Thank you !

                  • Define productive websites

You should have "productivity" websites(stackoverflow, msdn.com, github.com, etc.), so when I browse them, you will still count it as productive time, so the red/green circle won't go away and I will be closer to being on fire.
A better solution would be to let the user define the websites. For example, maybe I'm working on Facebook and I'm testing the website :)

                      • Make the API more available

Make your API more available. I would like to implement in my Windows Phone app the possibility to see how much time you have until you're on fire. For this I would need an API endpoint which I can make GET requests every minute or so and display the results to the user.

We dont have many endpoints, but there is no reason why we cannot implement them.

For apps developer: If you need a particular data endpoint, just tell us about it and we will work with you to make it happen.

                        • Make login pop-up window not "always on top"

When I open a solution in Visual Studio and Codealike is still not logged in, it opens the login screen, which is set up to be top-most ("always on top" of other windows). Since I manage my passwords in another application, I need to switch between windows to retrieve the password; but, more than that, I NEED to remember that Codealike will be top-most and get the password BEFORE clicking "Sign in", because:

                          - When I click "Sign in", it opens ANOTHER top-most modal window, which is the only one I can move away now, and it doesn't help so…

                            • Allow more fine-grained control of web monitoring

Currently it's possible to make the Chrome plugin send usage data only when explicitly asked to, and I can clear the local data before my development session, so I can keep the context to actual development time.

However, it would be more useful to allow me to remove specific sites before sending data, so it becomes less of an all-or-nothing issue.

Additionally, the Chrome plugin should have a non-monitoring mode, ideally indicated by graying out its icon. Hell, I'd be willing to take a stab at implementing this myself, once there's an official API. ;-)

                              • Expose an API

An API that would allow dev leads to develop custom logic based on some of the data/triggers you're already tracking. For example, I'd love to show a tooltip type of popup for the user who is looking at a method that uses MailMessage class to let them know the list of relevant issues in our issue management system that they should look at before rolling out their own emailer service.... If it is an API hosted on your servers (as opposed to a locally-hosted api that runs with visual studio), then we could also do a million things by integrating…

Would like to see a written (verbal) analysis of my habits.
                                    Example:
You are most active 8:00-13:00.....You seem encounter the most interruptions between 13:00 and 14:00...... You have accumulated 20 hrs using SQL this year

Integration with StatsWing for analysis of raw data. You may be able to iframe specific views and analysis.. or at the very least, provide a direct export to StatsWing so people can analyze the data themselves.

Also, using aggregate data from codealike you guys can use StatsWing to help find more relationships between the data poitns that you may not have thought of yet.

                                        • Hook into browserlink to see if the user is browsing the page he is working on

In recent versions of Visual Studio, browser link is on by default. You could hook into that to check whether the user is currently visiting a webpage from the currently opened solution. (See the "browserlink dashboard" window in vs)

Otherwise a lot of time is spent in the generic "outside the IDE" instead of "debugging" or whatever category this fits best in.

In my Company, we use a full IIS for development and as such, have to attach to it to debug, so it is more common to *not* debug the process while developing.
